Deeper than it’s Red Dirt Roots
A great song can move you, transport you, and even change you. In a world of music that is so contrived Mike writes from the heart with an honest introspective sincerity that can only be described as a man’s heart pouring out from his pen.
Mike Sanford is a former Collegiate and professional bareback bronc rider and Texas and Red Dirt artist. Mike is the product of the Texas Hill Country and grew up with a love for God, the outdoors, rodeo, country music, and rock and roll. It makes perfect sense then that his music would be most accurately labeled as being deeper than its Red Dirt Roots. Mike is focused with a passion to spread the gospel and love of Jesus Christ through his own unique brand of Texas & Red Dirt music. His new project, Hope and Broadway, is the culmination of his life experience from a boy running wild in the Texas Hill country and traveling down miles of blacktop chasing dreams, to hearing the call to ministry and everything in between. Hope and Broadway is a collection of stories about how love finds us in the least likely places. In Unbroken Mike sums it up by saying “I traded my winding roads, those wicked well beaten paths, to follow dirt road footprints that the Savior cast”, and later in the chorus by saying “He brushes the dust of the valley from the garments of a soul unclean. That’s just how He loves you and me.”
